•      Use eSword to search for the following phrases. You’ll need to set the search criteria to “Search for the exact phrase”.

    •    God the Son

    •    Son of God

    •    How many times do you find the phrase “God the Son” occurs? By contrast, how many times does the phrase “Son of God” appear? What conclusions can you draw from this?

    •    Have a closer look at the passages found for “Son of God”. You might like to read some of them in their context by clicking on the green reference, e.g. Joh 20:31, or by looking them up in a printed Bible.

    •    What is the overwhelming message of these passages? Do any of them suggest that Jesus is anything other than “Son of God”?

    •    What conclusions can you draw from your search?

This is a very basic study into what the Bible teaches about the nature of Jesus. An important subject such as this needs much deeper study. However, what are the implications of what you’ve found? Perhaps you’d like to look into it further.
